Dr. Goldie Byrd, from NC A&T, will highlight the community partnerships involved with the world renowned Center for Outreach in Alzheimer's Aging, and Community Health (COAACH).
Dr. Allison Mathews, from UNC-CH, who launched the 2Beat HIV project will speak about this project and its use of crowdsourcing contests to identify and curate new ways to implement community engagement for HIV research.
Dr. Carter-Edwards, from UNC-CH, will impart the process of working with NC TraCS CARES Metrics work group which has common themes, garnered from community, clinical, and academic partners, about increasing partner capacity, promoting environmental change and evidence-based practices, and strengthening the diversity of partners and community trust.
This workshop will highlight community-engaged projects and share approaches on maintaining connections throughout all phases of research.
