The new Child Maltreatment Research & Practice Network at UNC is hosting a screening of the documentary "Paper Tigers" on Monday, February 12th from 12-2 pm in the Tate-Turner Kuralt Auditorium in the School of Social Work. This documentary examines how an alternative high school in a rural community works to heal youth struggling with adverse childhood experiences. The film explores what it means to be a trauma-informed school and how to educate teens whose experiences leave them with a brain and body ill-suited to learn. Please join us for this film screening, preceded by a brief introduction of our plans for the new Child Maltreatment Research & Practice Network.
