On October 17, 2018, the Academy of Educators welcomed over 80 faculty, staff, residents, and students to the Frank C. Wilson, MD Professionalism Forum events.  Made possible through a generous grant from Dr. Frank Wilson and his wife, Ann Wilson, to promote discussion and learning around issues of professionalism, particularly as it pertains to medical education, the Frank C. Wilson, MD Professionalism Forum has hosted guest speakers since 2011.

This year, the Academy welcomed Anne Phibbs, PhD, Founder and President of Strategic Diversity Initiatives.  Dr. Phibbs brought over 25 years of experience helping organizations advance their equity, diversity, and inclusion goals.  She also has a breadth of experience delivering diversity and inclusion workshops to corporate, government, higher education, and healthcare professionals.  At this year’s forum, there was a noon workshop, meetings with faculty and students, a reception, and an evening lecture.  Dr. Joanne Jordan, Vice Dean of Faculty Affairs and Leadership Development, noted “It was terrific to see the standing room only crowds at the workshop for such an important topic as well as many newly-engaged faces in the audience for the evening lecture.”

More information on the Frank C. Wilson, MD Professionalism forum, as well as, Dr. Anne Phibbs’ slides from the two talks, can be found here.
