The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) recently renamed their prestigious Excellence in Education Award in honor of Dr. Judith Tintinalli, chair emeritus of UNC’s Department of Emergency Medicine.

The Judith E. Tintinalli Excellence in Education Award is a lifetime achievement award given to someone who has made a lasting change on emergency medicine education over a career. This year it was given to Dr. Cory Slovis from Vanderbilt University.

“It is quite an honor to have this award named after Judy,” said Jane H. Brice, MD, MPH, current chair of Emergency Medicine.
