Jane Brice receives Dr. George Johnson Jr. Award

The award is given by the North Carolina EMS Advisory Council to persons who have made significant long-term contributions to Emergency Medical Services in North Carolina.

Jane H. Brice, MD, MPH, professor and chair of emergency medicine, received the Dr. George Johnson Jr. Award on Oct. 2 in Greensboro. 

The award is given by the North Carolina EMS Advisory Council to persons who have made significant long-term contributions to Emergency Medical Services in North Carolina. 

It is named after Wilmington native George Johnson Jr., a member of the UNC School of Medicine faculty for nearly four decades. He held several key posts in the School of Medicine and at UNC Hospitals, including chief of vascular surgery, vice chairman of the department of surgery, associate chief of staff, director of Ambulatory Care Surgery Center and coordinator of general surgery.
