UNC Infectious Diseases Fellow Lina Rosengren-Hovee, MD, MS, received a full research scholarship and invitation to present during HIVR4P in Madrid, Spain, in October.

HIVR4P is an international, scientific meeting dedicated to biomedical HIV prevention research. Rosengren-Hovee will be presenting on the topic “Stigma and Mobile App Use among Young Black Men Who Have Sex with Men.” As a full research scholarship recipient, she is among a group of international junior faculty, postdoctoral fellows and graduate students who are first authors on an accepted abstract, and who are actively involved in HIV prevention research.

Rosengren-Hovee will be attending with her research mentor, Lisa Hightow-Weidman, MD, MPH. Hightow-Weidman is the principal investigator on the project HealthMpowerment, an internet HIV-sexually transmitted infections intervention for young, HIV-infected and uninfected black men who have sex with men (MSM), where the data were derived for Rosengren-Hovee’s abstract.
