UNC School of Medicine seeks Director of Ultrasound Teaching

The Director of Ultrasound Teaching will implement Ultrasound teaching into the UNC SOM curriculum in close collaboration with course directors in all Phases and under the supervision of the Assistant Dean for Clinical Education and the UNC SOM Education Committee.

Ideally the Director could start work immediately. The Director will implement ultrasound teaching into the UNC SOM curriculum in close collaboration with course directors in all Phases and under the supervision of the Assistant Dean for Clinical Education and the UNC SOM Education Committee. The Director will identify and work closely with other faculty who have expertise in relevant areas. The Director should have experience using ultrasound technology in clinical setting. The Director should have educational and leadership experience.  

Responsibilities will include:

  • Develop educational outcomes of the US curriculum in collaboration with others.
  • Gather input from others and advise on the most cost-effective equipment to purchase to achieve the educational outcomes of the US curriculum.
  • Gather input from others and advise on the most cost-effective staffing to achieve the educational outcomes of the US curriculum
  • Work closely with course directors in all phases and the Assistant Dean of Clinical Education to vertically and horizontally integrate the US curriculum.
  • Work closely with course directors in all phases and the Assistant Dean for Clinical Education to assure a gradual and clinically safe roll out of the US curriculum
