Teaching Scholars Program Nominations due 5/30

Nominations for the 2019-2020 Teaching Scholars Program are due by 11:59PM on May 30, 2019. This faculty development program is specifically designed for individuals who have responsibility for educational programs or courses, or whose work includes a focus on teaching and who seek to develop their skills in that area.

To apply, please indicate your interest with your department chair, who will send all nominations to our coordinator Morgan Resnick Kahle (morgan_resnick-kahle@med.unc.edu). Department chairs should include the nominee’s CV and a short description of the rationale for your choice including how you think the individual, your department, and/or the School of Medicine would benefit from his or her participation. Thank you so much for all of your help with our recruitment and nomination process.

Directed by Dr. AnnaMarie Connolly since 2001, this program aims to promote teaching expertise in medical education. More than 200 faculty members have completed the program since its inception in 1986. The program will extend over the twelve-month period from September 2019 through August 2020. Please note the program will be limited to 10 to 12 participants. Therefore, we ask that only interested candidates who are able to attended monthly sessions on Wednesdays from 6 to 8 pm for the entire 12-month period apply. A list of the monthly topics are available upon request. Please feel free to contact Morgan Resnick-Kahle at morgan_resnick-kahle@med.unc.edu for the list or with any questions regarding this program.
