As part of Patient Safety Awareness Week March 8-14, UNC Medical Center planned a number of events to recognize and celebrate the important work done each day to keep patients safe from harm. Events included a webinar on patient safety, executive rounding on units (with treats!) and a chance to be highlighted on UNC Medical Center's social media channels.

PIPS and the department of Infection Prevention recognized individuals who have gone above and beyond in their patient safety efforts. Award recipients were treated to a “thank you” lunch on Tuesday, March 10, noon to 1 pm. Dr. Tom Ivester and Larry Mandelkehr acknowledged the recipients’ outstanding commitment and presented the awards.
