The Academy of Educators (AOE), located within the Office of Faculty Affairs and Leadership Development, is accepting nominations for new faculty and resident members. The deadline for nominations has been extended to April 8, 2020 at 11:59 PM and can be submitted on our website.

To provide potential members with flexibility, we have also waived the (1) one page letter of support from a Department Chair/AHEC Liaison/Program Director this year.

Founded on enhancing research and scholarship toward excellence in teaching, the AOE is seeking faculty, residents, and fellows who are committed to the teaching of learners within the UNC School of Medicine, the UNC Health Care System, and participating AHEC sites. To accomplish these goals, we strive for the creation and design of new curricular materials and scholarly research within medical education and the willingness to implement new methodology and technology.

Last month, a new by-law removed the requirement for 2 years of faculty service at UNC prior to application, so we now invite all levels of faculty to apply.

Acceptance to the Academy brings expectations of continued leadership in educational initiatives, and active participation in the goals of the Academy (minimum of four events for all types of membership).

To learn more, visit our website. Please reach out to aoe@med.unc.edu with any questions. We look forward to your nomination.
