Each month the Center for Genomics and Society and the Program for Precision Medicine in Healthcare partner to host a Lunch and Learn session. In these sessions, we view a video on genomics research and then discuss the ethical, legal, and social implications (ELSI).

On Monday, March 9, the topic will be the “All of Us” Research Program, a National Institutes of Health initiative that seeks to advance precision medicine. We will view excerpts of a talk by Joni Rutter, PhD, Director of Scientific Programs for the All of Us Research Program.  The title is, ‘The “All of Us” Research Program: An Overview and Focus on Genetics Research & Consenting’. This video features Dr. Rutter, delivering the keynote address at an Office for Human Research Protections sponsored Research Community Forum in Augusta, GA. She discusses the program and the genetic components of the program’s research initiative with a special focus on how the program is approaching development of the informed consent materials for genetic research. We will also view some of the “All of Us” recruitment videos.
