Interprofessional cooperation and exchange of critical information are key to the appropriate and timely referral and care of abused children. This conference will teach a team approach for nurses, physicians, NPs, PAs, social workers and law enforcement working together to learn about all the legal issues surrounding child abuse and neglect.
At the completion of this course, the participant should be able to:
- Identify characteristics of an abused/neglected child
- Provide assessments to gather data to support abuse/neglect
- Identify resources for referrals and assistance in documentation of suspected abuse/neglect
- Communicate with referral agencies providing critical assessment findings
