Benjamin to speak about the Patient-Centered Medical Home

Mignon "Mimi" Benjamin, M.D., will speak about the Patient-Centered Medical Home at the Durham-Orange County Medical Society Meeting on Feb. 10.

Dr. Benjamin is the Associate Medical Director of Quality Improvement for the UNC Health Care ambulatory care practices. She is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at UNC and is one of the founding physicians of Durham Family Practice.

She has been working in quality improvement for 19 years. Since 2000, she has been a clinical consultant for the Carolina Center for Medical Excellence and from 2000 - 2005 was the Medical Director for the Carolina Center for Clinical Information. She is currently helping UNC primary care physicians obtain NCQA recognition in diabetes and cardiovascular care and working with practices on the Patient Centered Medical Home. She is also consulting for the EHR Empowerment Consortium assisting small and large practices as well as information system vendors and healthcare organizations with quality initiatives.  All members and prospective members are welcome to attend, at no charge, as guests of the Durham-Orange County Medical Society.
