Featuring artwork created by N.C. Children's Hospital patients for the financial benefit of the Children's Hospital, Bids for Kids is an annual children's art auction supported by Kids Cards and the UNC School of Medicine's Pediatric Interest Group. Studio91 Fine Art Gallery in Chapel Hill will host this year's Bids for Kids event on Friday, May 1, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
“It’s all about benefiting the children,” says Kids Cards project manager, Amanda Ballew. “We elevate self-esteem by presenting the children’s very own masterpieces, while at the same time raising money to benefit patients and families of the N.C. Children’s Hospital.”
In addition to the art auction, Bids for Kids features a raffle. Event tickets are $15 in advance, $17 at the door, and each includes one drink and two raffle coupons. For tickets, please contact the Kids Cards Advisory Board Chairman at (919) 843-0707 or the Pediatric Interest Group at (919) 724-7583. Also, everyone is invited to stop by Studio 91 a week prior to the event to view the artwork before the auction.
“The atmosphere at the Bids for Kids event is lively, with lots of people and fun,” says Annette Girman from Studio91, long-time annual sponsor and host of the May 1 event. “It is a time for people to support the community and the young patients at the N.C. Children’s Hospital.”
