CHT seeks public input for proposed service adjustments

Chapel Hill Transit (CHT) will hold a series of public input session on its proposed service adjustments for fiscal year 2010-2011.

The sessions will be held Monday, May 17, 2010, at the Chapel Hill Bible Church on 260 Erwin Road, Chapel Hill, from 4 - 6 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m.  The sessions will start with a short presentation from CHT staff, and then the public will be invited to share their opinions.
CHT is recommending a series of service adjustments intended to increase schedule reliability, better match service to ridership and improve the efficiency of the system. The proposed adjustments include:

CCX Route – Weekday service will start at 6 a.m. and end at 8 p.m.
F Route – The 6:20 a.m. and the 6:55 a.m. trips will begin at McDougle School instead of Weaver Street Market.
HS Route – Service will operate every 60 minutes from 6:45 a.m. to 5:40 p.m.
M Route – Discontinue service due to low ridership and the availability of alternative service (CM route) nearby.
NS Route – Weekday morning ten (10) minute service will be provided from 7 - 9:30 a.m.
NU Route – The 7:25 a.m. and 8:05 a.m. trips will be eliminated.
RU Route – Service will operate every 15 minutes from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., instead of every 10 minutes.
