Seventy UNC Children’s physicians named to prestigious 2015-2016 Best Doctors In America® list

Best Doctors, Inc. honors a wealth of talent and expertise in the pediatric health arena on the peer-reviewed list, which recognizes providers with the most advanced medical expertise across the country.

Seventy physicians affiliated with UNC Children's, representing 27 pediatric specialties, appear on Best Doctors, Inc.’s recently announced 2015-2016 Best Doctors in America® list. Only five percent of doctors in America earn this prestigious honor, decided by impartial peer review. The physicians are listed in alphabetical order at the bottom of this page.

The Best Doctors in America® List, assembled by Best Doctors, Inc. and audited and certified by Gallup®, results from polling more than 40,000 physicians in the United States. In a confidential review, current physician listees answer the question: “If you or a loved one needed a doctor in your specialty, to whom would you refer?” Best Doctors, Inc. evaluates the review results and verifies all additional information to meet inclusion criteria.

Best Doctors has earned a reputation for reliable, impartial results by remaining totally independent. Doctors cannot pay to be included in the Best Doctors database, nor are they paid to provide their input. The list is a product of validated peer review, in which doctors who excel in their specialties are selected by their peers in the profession.

The experts who are part of the Best Doctors in America® database provide the most advanced medical expertise and knowledge to patients with serious conditions—often saving lives in the process by finding the right diagnosis and right treatment.

UNC Children's group of experts listed in the database includes world-class pediatric specialists in these 27 fields: allergy and immunology; anesthesiology; cardiology; cardiothoracic surgery; critical care medicine; dermatology; developmental-behavioral medicine; emergency medicine; endocrinology and diabetes; gastroenterology; general pediatrics and adolescent medicine; general surgery; genetics and metabolism; hematology-oncology; infectious diseases; neonatal-perinatal medicine; nephrology; neurology; neurosurgery; orthopaedic surgery; otolaryngology/ENT; physical medicine and rehabilitation; psychiatry; pulmonology; radiology; rheumatology; and urology.
