The K2 Challenge is a 5-mile race that attracts a wide range of runners from beginners to serious competitors. Beginning at the N.C. State Bell Tower, Challengers run 2.5 miles to the Krispy Kreme store in Raleigh and, after eating a full dozen of Krispy Kreme doughnuts, must run 2.5 miles back. Participants who register as Casual runners will still receive a t-shirt and a dozen doughnuts but can eat them at their leisure. Runners can also choose the No Doughnut option when registering.
For the fourth year in a row, there will be a Tar Healers team. The team is open to anyone at UNC Children’s and their family, friends and colleagues. You can join this team by registering here: https://www.crowdrise.com/unc-childrens-tar-healers.
This year’s race kicks off at 8:30 am. To register for the race or for more information please visit the K2 Challenge website. To date, the Krispy Kreme Challenge race has raised over $1M to support patient programs and services at UNC Children’s.
