A container label that states “single dose container” on any bottle of sterile irrigation fluids indicates that once opened, any unused fluid must be immediately discarded.
Because of the single-use labeling, the bottle of irrigation fluid cannot be labeled with the date and time opened and used as needed for up to 24 hours before discarding. Please discard any unused irrigation fluid immediately after initial use.
Central Distribution stocks 1000cc and 500cc bottles of sterile normal saline and sterile water used for irrigation. Smaller bottles of sterile saline and sterile water will not be stocked in Central Distribution since they cost the same as the larger containers and require more storage space.
