For surgeons, the Pre-op Order set has been updated. Read for information.
The Pre-op Order for surgeons has been updated to include:
- Admission order to meet the 2Midnight rule
- IV start with KVO LR
- Glucose testing if diabetic
These orders will be pre-checked, and should not be unchecked. Also, all peri-op orders should have an attached phase of care. Phases of care are Pre-Admission Testing, Pre-op, Intra-op, PACU, Post-op, PACU + Post-op.
NOTE: Orders entered using either a pre-op or post-op order set will have default phases of care attached to them. If other orders are entered separately a phase of care will have to be attached.
Orders without a phase of care, or with the incorrect phase of care, may not be performed as expected or may drop off the active orders section unexpectedly. Please see the Surgeon –OpTime Tip Sheet called “Phases of Care” for more detailed instructions.
