May 5 was the World Health Organization’s #safeHANDS Hand Hygiene Day, and UNC Hospitals celebrated with tremendous success! Check out moments from the traveling photo both, view the hand hygiene results from the day, and see which of your colleagues won the random drawing!


In celebration of the WHO’s #safeHANDS Hand Hygiene Day, UNC Hospitals had 203 unique observers in a single day (far surpassing our call for at least 100!) for its Clean In, Clean Out program. 2,021 observations were made and 69 percent of those observations had feedback (our best house-wide feedback percentage EVER!). And, 38 percent of the observations had feedback given to someone in a job class other than their own. Now that’s #safeHANDS!

The traveling photo booth captured the excitement throughout the hospital with the success of our Clean In, Clean Out program. Special congratulations to the winners from the random drawing from those who submitted observations on during the day:
