As Dr. Brian Goldstein prepares to leave in November 2016 to become Chief Health System Officer at the University of Washington Medicine, Gary Park, President of UNC Hospitals, provides an update on the leadership structure for UNC Hospitals.
Effective Thursday, Oct. 13, Ian Buchanan and Janet Hadar were promoted to Senior Vice Presidents. With Chris Ellington, Executive VP and CFO, and Cathy Madigan, Senior VP and CNO, they will report directly to me and will be charged with operational responsibility for UNC Hospitals. We will not name a new Chief Operating Officer when Dr. Goldstein leaves in November.
In addition to current responsibilities, Chris, Cathy, Janet, and Ian will assume new responsibilities for UNC Hospitals’ operations:
- Chris Ellington, UNC Hospitals Executive VP and Chief Financial Officer; President of UNC Health Care Network Hospitals
- Marlene Rifkin, Senior VP of Operations
- Susan Phillips, VP Surgical Services
- Cathy Madigan, Senior VP and Chief Nursing Officer, UNC Hospitals
- Jeff Strickler, Associate VP Hillsborough Campus
- UNC Health Care at Wakebrook
- Janet Hadar, Senior VP of Operations, UNC Hospitals
- Rowell Daniels, System VP of Pharmacy
- Tammie Stanton, System VP of Post-Acute Care
- Ian Buchanan, Senior VP of Operations; UNC Health Care Chief Research Officer
- Dan Lehman, Associate VP of Support Services
- Mary-Ann Minsley, Associate VP of Ambulatory Care
