To increase our information security, starting Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016, the ISD Information Security Office will remove access to the Cisco AnyConnect VPN for inactive users (those who have not used their VPN account in six months). Active VPN users will continue to have access to VPN.


To increase our information security, starting Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016, the ISD Information Security Office will remove access to the Cisco AnyConnect VPN for inactive users (those who have not used their VPN account in six months). Active VPN users will continue to have access to VPN.

For most employees, Citrix is the preferred tool for accessing UNC Health Care’s IT resources remotely. Starting Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016, the ISD Information Security Office will remove access to the Cisco AnyConnect VPN for inactive users (those who have not used their VPN account in six months). Active VPN users will continue to have access to VPN.

  • If you need access to any UNC Health Care resources that are not available via Citrix, please submit a request to access the Cisco AnyConnect VPN via the Access Request Center (ARC). When submitting an ARC request for VPN access, please specify the IT resources that you need to access via VPN (that are not accessible via Citrix) in the comments field.
