Medsafe™ boxes have been placed at pharmacies around UNC Medical Center, providing patients with a way to safely and conveniently dispose of expired or unused medications.
Please note that the presence of these boxes does not change UNC Health Care’s policies regarding the handling of medications: a provider may not take medication in order to dispose of it on behalf of the patient.
Providers and staff are also welcome to use MedSafe boxes to dispose of any unused or expired medication they may personally possess, but not dispose of medications on behalf of patients.

- UNC Hillsborough Outpatient Pharmacy – Lobby Level, Hillsborough Hospital
- UNC Central Outpatient Pharmacy – Lobby Level, NC Cancer Hospital
- UNC Employee Pharmacy – Lobby Level, Memorial Hospital
