On Saturday, May 12, the UNC School of Medicine held its commencement ceremony honoring the Class of 2018. Students gathered with faculty, friends, and family in Memorial Hall to celebrate their accomplishments. The class selected Alice Ma, MD, as its commencement speaker.

The annual commencement ceremony marks the formal conclusion of these students’ experience at the UNC School of Medicine. On March 16, the students celebrated Match Day, where they learned where they will spend the next several years completing their residency training.

Following remarks by student and faculty leaders, and Ma’s commencement address, students received their hoods and diplomas, and gathered in front of Memorial Hall for further celebration with family on a hot, Chapel Hill day.
