On June 13, the UNC Employee Forum celebrated the contributions of employees from across campus. Two UNC School of Medicine employees, Shaketha Edwards and Erin Edwards were honored. In addition, ten UNC School of Medicine employees were elected delegates to the Employee Forum.


On June 13, the UNC Employee Forum celebrated the contributions of employees from across campus. Two UNC School of Medicine employees, Shaketha Edwards and Erin Edwards were honored. In addition, ten UNC School of Medicine employees were elected delegates to the Employee Forum.

Shaketha Edwards, a contract administrator for medical administration sponsored programs, was honored with the Customer Service Award. Edwards was recognized for exceptional customer service in her work processing contract requests.

Erin Edwards, director of the medical administration-sponsored programs, earned the Rookie Award. Though she is not new to UNC, she has only been in her current role at the School of Medicine for less than a year. During that time, she has gone above and beyond including the creation of a strategic plan for her unit and the implementation of an electronic contract management system.

In addition to these employee awards, ten School of Medicine employees were elected delegates to the Employee Forum, including:

– Brian Wrighten, Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities
