Nominations for the 11th annual UNC Diversity Awards are now being accepted.

We are excited to announce that nominations for the 11th annual Diversity Awards are now being accepted, beginning Feb. 4. The purpose of the awards is to recognize members of our UNC community who have given their time and effort to further diversity and inclusion efforts at Carolina and in our surrounding community. The awards will be presented at a ceremony this spring.

The deadline for submissions is March 15. Awards will be given in the following six categories:

  • Faculty
  • Staff
  • Undergraduate Student
  • Graduate/Professional Student
  • Alumni
  • Intergroup Collaboration

Awards criteria are as follows:

  • Advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion and/or social justice;
  • Demonstrate a sustained commitment to the advancement of diversity and inclusion at UNC-Chapel Hill and/or in the community;
  • Demonstrate respect or inclusive treatment when interacting with others; and
  • Implemented or sponsored an event that cultivates diversity and inclusion

Nominations must be submitted electronically at UNC 2019 Diversity Awards Nomination.
