Proposals are now being accepted for the 2019-20 SOM / NC TraCS Translational Team Science Awards (TTSA).
This award is aimed at capitalizing on the “culture of collaboration” at UNC-Chapel Hill to foster new synergistic interdisciplinary teams of basic science and clinical investigators.
The program is described in detail in the RFP linked here. One-page concept papers outlining the project and the new interdisciplinary team are due January 3, 2020. Selected teams will be invited to submit a Phase I Feasibility proposal for review. If awarded, TTSA Phase I Feasibility grants provide up to $50k over a 12-month period with the option to submit a competitive continuation proposal for a TTSA Phase II award (1 year/up to $75k).
Due to the current vaping epidemic and reports of related illnesses and deaths, vaping research proposals will be considered as high-priority.
All submissions should be emailed to OoR_Submissions@med.unc.edu. If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Research at the email address above or call Jennifer Brennan at 966-8089.
