UNC School of Medicine websites have migrated to the WordPress content management system over the past two years, culminating this week in the migration and redesign of the School of Medicine homepage and affiliated sites.
Check out the newly launched UNC School of Medicine website, including the School of Medicine homepage and affiliated sites, which migrated this week to the WordPress content management system from an older system used for the past ten years. The effort was spearheaded by School of Medicine IT with leadership and input from many individuals in several offices at the school.
For the past two years, School of Medicine IT and web managers across the school have migrated more than 300 SOM webpages for departments, divisions, centers, institutes, and offices from the Plone content management system to WordPress, which is the same system used throughout UNC-Chapel Hill.
The updated navigation has been optimized for external users. The School of Medicine Intranet, launched earlier this year, will continue to provide internal users direct links to the most-used resources on our site.
The school leadership would like to thank everyone who had a hand in making this transition as smooth as possible.
