Edwin Kim, MD, associate professor medicine and pediatrics in the division of rheumatology, allergy & immunology in the UNC Department of Medicine and the UNC Department of Pediatrics, and Edward Iglesia, MD, MPH, a fellow in the division of rheumatology, allergy & immunology, co-authored an editorial in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology in response to research demonstrating benefit of allergenic food introduction in high-risk infants. Dr. Iglesia and Dr. Kim highlight that the benefits may be extended to lower-risk infants.

Kim, a member of the UNC Children’s Research Institute, is program director of the UNC Allergy and Immunology Fellowship Program, director of the UNC Food Allergy Initiative, and medical director of the UNC Allergy & Immunology Clinic. Iglesia is also a preventive medicine resident in the UNC Department of Family Medicine.
