UNC-Chapel Hill Chancellor Kevin M. Guskiewicz, Provost Robert A. Blouin, and Chief Global Officer Barbara J. Stephenson reaffirm commitment to international students.
Dear Carolina Community,
As the nation’s first public university, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has dedicated over 225 years to the pursuit of excellence in teaching, research, and service. One of the strengths of a Carolina education lies in the diversity of experiences among our student body, including that of our more than 1,700 international students. These students enrich our campus with perspectives from around the world, and we are grateful to them for choosing to study at Carolina.
In light of recent federal guidance, we reaffirm our commitment to and support of Carolina’s international students. Each of them is an essential member of our University community and plays an integral role in our mission of teaching, research, and service. We are committed to doing all we can to ensure they can continue their Carolina education in a safe and supportive learning environment. Our Office of International Student and Scholar Services stands ready to assist and support students affected by the guidance.
The relationships we build through shared experiences help keep our world connected and create the pathways for coming together to exchange ideas, learn from each other and solve the grand challenges of our time.
