Drs. Christina Shenvi and Eric Zwemer were invited to represent the School of Medicine and the UNC Academy of Educators at the national Academies Collaborative Virtual Conference Series on November 12th, 2020. Read on to learn more about their presentation.

The UNC Academy of Educators (AOE), housed within the Office of Faculty Affairs and Leadership Development, is proud to recognize Leadership Council members Drs. Christina Shenvi (Emergency Medicine) and Eric Zwemer (Pediatrics) for representing the UNC SOM and the AOE at the national Academies Collaborative Virtual Conference Series.
The Academies Collaborative is a national forum for health professions teaching academies and similar organizations. In lieu of an in-person meeting this year, the AOE was invited to share their work on how it supports excellence in education of the health sciences.
Within their session, Drs. Shenvi and Zwemer presented on the success of the AOE Mentored Member Program, the upcoming AOE Teaching Bootcamp, and the AOE Virtual Faculty Exchange. The latter is a recent cross-institutional project to connect junior faculty with speaking opportunities amidst the pandemic. Institutions that participate contribute the names of faculty members and their educational topics to exchange sessions.
