The Well-Being program, which reinforces and promotes

Nadia Charguia and Holly Bunn to co-lead Integrated System-Wide Well-Being program beginning July 1, 2021

wellness programs and focuses on primary drivers of burnout, has been co-led since its inception in 2018 by Samantha Meltzer- Brody, MD, MPH, Chair of the Department of Psychiatry, and Scott Doak, MBA, SPHR, Chief Human Resources Officer.

Dr. Meltzer-Brody and Doak initially led the Well-Being Program to focus on bolstering existing well-being resources, identifying and improving areas of critical need related to Epic@UNC as well as other systems. The team has implemented several pilot programs to test solutions to help improve stress levels among UNC Health and UNC School of Medicine co-workers.  Beginning in March 2020, the work pivoted to address the urgent mental health needs required to support co-workers during the COVID pandemic.

The past year has been especially stressful for everyone, and we want to thank Samantha, Scott and the entire Well-Being Program team for their efforts and outreach to make programs, hotlines and resources for help available – visit this link to review the many resources available to help support you and your peers.

Dr. Meltzer-Brody and Doak will remain involved with the Well-Being program as Executive Wellness Champion Sponsors.

Please join us in welcoming and congratulating Dr. Charguia and Bunn as they begin in their new roles and continue the Well-Being Program’s work that aims to make UNC Health and the UNC School of Medicine among the best places to work in America.
