The Association of Professional Women in Medical Sciences (APWIMS) is hosting an event on March 17, 2021 from 12-1pm for a discussion on ‘Achieving Health Equity through Research and Clinical Care’ led by Dr. Genevieve S. Neal-Perry, Robert A. Ross Distinguished Professor and Chair, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Genevieve Neal-Perry joined UNC as Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology on April 15, 2020. She previously served as Professor and Division Director of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Washington and Director of the Cancer and Reproduction Clinic at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.
Dr. Neal-Perry received her BA from Dartmouth College and an MD and PhD in pharmacology from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She completed residency and fellowship training in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Beth Israel Medical Center and Montefiore Medical Center. She previously served as the Associate Dean for Diversity Mentoring at Albert Einstein College of Medicine where she was an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Her research has focused on gaining a better understanding of the impact of nutrition, aging, and ovarian hormones on regulation of fertility and brain function. She has received funding from the NIH, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and the American Federation for Aging Research. Dr. Neal-Perry has several national leadership roles and was recently named as Vice President of Diversity and Structural Change for the Society for Reproductive Investigation.
