Reducing unwarranted red blood cell transfusions is a Care Redesign UNC Health goal for FY21. Unwarranted blood transfusions do not benefit our patients and may even cause them harm. We encourage you to use these Words & Ways That Work to help discuss blood management with patients, family members and care partners.
