The John B. Graham Medical Student Research Society would like to invite everyone to participate in the 53rd annual Student Research Day on April 16, 2021! Our keynote speaker, Dr. Ofer Levy, director of the Precision Vaccine Program at Boston Children’s Hospital, will deliver his talk over Zoom at 12:00-1:00pm. We are additionally seeking faculty, fellow, and physician judges to evaluate student research and help make the day a success.

The John B. Graham Student Research Society is writing to ask you to save the date for UNC School of Medicine’s 53nd annual Student Research Day, which will take place on Friday, April 16th, 2021. Historically, this has been a symposium-style event highlighting the research achievements of UNC medical students, giving them the opportunity to present their work and discuss it with faculty and fellow students. Due to the SARS-CoV-2 Pandemic, the event will be held virtually, with breakout rooms for presenters to showcase their work via live video sessions. Student presentations will cover research projects in the fields of basic science, clinical science, and public health.
The schedule of the day is as follows:
12:00 PM: Landes Merrimon Lecture by Dr. Ofer Levy
2:00 PM: Student oral presentations
3:00 PM: Student poster session
We are excited to host Dr. Ofer Levy to be our speaker for this year’s Landes Merrimon Lecture. Dr. Levy is the Director of the Precision Vaccines Program, a staff physician in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Boston Children’s Hospital, and a Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. All are welcome to attend this noon lecture. The link to the Keynote address can be found below:

We are additionally looking for judges to help make the day a success. Judges will provide critical, formative feedback to students in the School of Medicine, which will help them further develop their scientific thinking and presentation skills. The role of the faculty judges will be to evaluate both the quality of the students’ research and the effectiveness with which the students present their research.
If you are interested in serving as a judge, please use the following form to submit your information and judging preferences:
