The scholars will participate in a year-long training program including a clinical trials bootcamp, frequent didactic training, and significant hands-on clinical trial experience.


The Clinical Trialist Training Program (CTTP) scholars were selected from among 22 exceptionally competitive applicants and recognized for their significant potential for impact as site Principal Investigators.

This year’s scholars:

  • Donna Culton, MD, PhD – Dermatology
  • Kimberly Weaver, MD – Medicine, Gastroenterology
  • Marc Bjurlin, DO, MSc – Urology
  • Kristalyn Gallager, DO – Surgery, Surgical Oncology

As CTTP scholars, they will participate in a year-long training program including a clinical trials bootcamp, frequent didactic training, and significant hands-on clinical trial experience. Through the CTTP, the SOM CRSO and NC TraCS aim to expand the SOM’s ability to conduct impactful multi-site clinical trials led by highly-qualified and experienced Principal Investigators.
