The School of Medicine’s MD curriculum seeks multiple faculty to serve as facilitators of case-based learning (CBL) sessions for first-year medical students in the 2022-23 academic year.
The Foundation Phase (the first three semesters) of the School of Medicine’s MD curriculum is being revised to promote trust, clinical reasoning skills, and metacognitive skills and seeks multiple faculty to serve as facilitators of case-based learning (CBL) sessions for first-year medical students in the 2022-23 academic year. Faculty may commit to the fall semester (Aug-Dec 2022), spring semester (Jan-May 2023), or both the fall and spring semesters.
Facilitators will guide discussion of a small student group for two weekly sessions (Tuesday and Thursday) using cases that focus on clinical science, basic science, and social and health systems science. These sessions will be part of integrated medical science courses (3 sequential courses per semester) in which facilitators and students will develop semester-long relationships with one another. Facilitators will receive 20% salary support up to the NIH salary cap if they serve for both semesters or 10% if they serve for only one semester.
