The UNC Academy of Educators (AOE), housed within the Office of Faculty Affairs and Leadership Development, is seeking applications from fellows for the newly revamped FLAGship Program (Faculty/Fellow Leadership and Growth). Applications will be accepted until noon EST on July 6th.
The FLAGship program provides participants with a community of educators and a venue to discuss leadership development, promotion and progress, and educational literature. More information, including how to apply, can be found on our website. All fellows are eligible to apply.
Participants will be expected to:
- Begin an educational project, which could be research, a new teaching opportunity, or any array of options.
- Attend the monthly FLAGship journal club and leadership development sessions and present one journal club paper during the year, from August 19th 2021 to May 2022. Meetings will typically take place virtually on Thursday evenings, with optional opportunities for daytime sessions and get-togethers. Specific dates and times coming soon.
- Read the books Make it Stick: The Science of Successful Learning and the Strengths Finder 2.0 book to participate in active discussion during one of the monthly FLAGship sessions. The AOE will provide a copy of the books.
- Attend the AOE bootcamp in person or online, and/or watch the AOE Educator’s Essentials package. All details will be shared at our launch social in August!
