The deadline to apply for the UNC Academy of Educators Passing the Torch Program, housed within the Office of Faculty Affairs and Leadership Development, is Monday, August 31st, 2021 at 11:59 PM EST.

Applications to the Passing the Torch: Fostering Medical Humanism through Faculty Role Models are being accepted until 11:59PM on Tuesday, August 31, 2021. Passing the Torch is a faculty development program within the Academy of Educators that is uniquely suited to junior Clinician Educator faculty seeking to develop further patient care and teaching skills with a person-centered model. The program is facilitated by Dr. Jennifer McEntee. More information on the program and the application submission process can be found here.
Participants will be expected to attend bi-weekly sessions from September 2021 through June 2022. Depending on the size of the group, these meetings will be virtual and/or in person. Timing will depend upon the availability of the group.
Required Application Materials include:
- One-page Letter of Recommendation from the Department Chair or Designee
- Nominee CV, and
- Brief statement from the nominee outlining why they would like to participate (limit to one page)
