UNC Hospitals continues to work with Chapel Hill Transit (CHT) and the University to address the high volume of riders on CHT buses.
Please note the following:
- Two additional UNC Hospitals Shuttle buses with direct service to/from the Friday Center Park & Ride lot are now in service from 6 – 8 a.m. to supplement CHT service. All pickups and drop-offs will occur at the transit stop located in the P&R lot and on Manning Drive near the lower Cancer Hospital entrance.
- An additional UNC Hospitals Shuttle bus with direct service to/from the Southern Village P&R lot is now in service from 6am – 8am to supplement CHT service. All pickups and drop-offs will occur at the transit stop located in the P&R lot, on Manning Drive opposite the Cardinal deck, and along Mason Farm Road near the ACC.
- CHT has reported lower rider volumes for those parking in the Friday Center South lot.
- If you have an on-campus parking permit that you do not currently use due to being on remote work, please consider returning it so that they can be provided to teammates currently using Park & Ride passes
- If you have an on-campus parking permit and are interested in sharing the cost of your permit with a co-worker(s) as a Carpool Permit, please contact the hospital parking office at emppark@unchealth.unc.edu or 984-974-1031 for details on doing so.
