Jack Curran is joining the UNC School of Medicine from Children’s Mercy Kansas City.
Jack Curran began his role as the Associate Chair for Administration in the Department of Pediatrics on Nov. 15. Kira Frediani served as the Department’s Interim Associate Chair for Administration beginning in December 2020 and Allen Habif served as the Department’s Associate Chair for Administration over the previous five years.
Prior to coming to UNC’s School of Medicine, Curran was an Administrative Director in the Department of Pediatrics at Children’s Mercy Kansas City, where he was responsible for the Department’s research programs, as well as the Divisions of Gastroenterology, Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine, and Hematology/Oncology. He served the Department of Pediatrics in various roles as a business manager, division administrator and administrative director going back to 2009. He also was the Administrative Fellow at Children’s Mercy Kansas City from 2008 to 2009.
Curran was born in Kansas City, MO. He completed his undergraduate degree at St. Louis University and Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration at Washington University in St. Louis. He is a proud fan of the Royals and Chiefs, along with being an avid triathlete, traveler and dog lover.
