The NIH COVID-19 Treatment Guidelines are considered a gold standard for their accuracy and have received more than 27 million page views since launching.
National Institutes of Health (NIH) Director Francis S. Collins, MD, PhD, and National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci, MD, recognized Ada Adimora, MD, MPH, on Dec. 8 for her contributions to the NIH’s COVID-19 Treatment Guidelines.
“As you well know, it has been quite a task to assemble a panel representing so many disciplines, government agencies, professional societies, and academic and clinical experts. Your expertise has been invaluable,” Collins and Fauci wrote in their letter to Adimora.
Adimora is the Sarah Graham Kenan Distinguished Professor of Medicine in the UNC School of Medicine’s division of infectious diseases and a professor of epidemiology in the Gillings School of Global Public Health. Her research focuses on HIV and STI transmission among underrepresented populations.
