The Eshelman Institute for Innovation is pleased to announce that we are now accepting pre-proposals for our 2022 annual grant cycle! Please note that all faculty and staff at UNC-Chapel Hill are eligible to apply.

All applicants are required to submit a pre-proposal as the first step in the application process (due January 6, 2022). More Information and a link to our pre-proposal form can be found on our website.

The Eshelman Institute seeks to fund translational research related to therapeutics focused on oncology, infectious disease, and neuroscience (including rare diseases) and all digital health technologies. However, the Institute welcomes ideas for devices and diagnostics, and other therapeutic areas and services.

The Eshelman Institute aims to increase the diversity of translational projects in therapeutics and digital health and to stimulate cross-unit collaboration to deliver even more value for the University.  In addition, we strongly encourage collaboration with our HBCU partners at Meharry Medical College and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. If you are interested in working with our HBCU partners, please contact the Institute.

To learn more about our grant process and to view all questions outlined in the pre-proposal, please view our grant guidelines on our website.

If you have any questions or would like to meet with us to learn more, please email eshelmaninstitute@unc.edu.
