Webinar: Celebrating The Life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The webinar, sponsored by the UNC Health Black Alliance Employee Resource Group, will feature keynote speaker Tonya Armstrong, PhD, MTS, founder and CEO of The Armstrong Center for Hope as well as System Vice President for Consumerism and Insights Victor Reiss, and an invocation from Darryl Owens, Women’s Services chaplain/grief counselor.

Love in Action: A Virtual MLK Day Celebration

The Holly Springs Martin Luther King Jr. Committee presents “Love in Action: A free virtual MLK Day celebration” on Sunday, Jan. 16 at 3 p.m.

The event will celebrate the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and feature musical dance tributes along with inspiring words from guest speakers, including UNC Rex’s Rev. Gyasi Patterson. Register here.

MLK InterFaith Prayer Breakfast and Memorial March

UNC Health is proud to support the MLK InterFaith Prayer Breakfast and the MLK Memorial March, both taking place on Monday, Jan. 17.

The MLK Interfaith Prayer Breakfast, featuring keynote speaker Bishop Vashti McKenzie, will be broadcasted live on WRAL at 8 a.m. and will livestream on WRAL.com from 7 – 9 a.m.

The MLK Memorial March departs from the State Capitol Building (100 W Edenton St., Raleigh) at 11 a.m. and features UNC Health Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer Dr. Audrea Caesar as a lead marshal.

As we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr on Jan. 17, we invite you to honor his teachings by participating in an activity that serves the community.

In partnership with The Blood Connection, UNC REX will be hosting a series of blood drives in support of the MLK Day of Service. All donors will receive a special t-shirt and a $10 donation will be made on your behalf to the Rex Healthcare Foundation
