A reminder to the School of Medicine community on the DEI Climate Survey from UNC School of Medicine Executive Dean Cristy Page, MD, MPH, and Vice Dean for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion E. Nathan Thomas III, PhD.

Dear Colleagues,

Thank you to everyone who has taken time to complete the DEI Climate Survey. Understanding your  experiences is important to us and will help the UNC School of Medicine and UNC Health become a more equitable and inclusive environment for everyone.

If you haven’t yet filled out the survey, please do so as soon as possible. It is completely confidential, and it takes about 10 minutes. Importantly, the deadline to share your thoughts has been extended to 11:59 p.m. on Monday, February 28.

The School of Medicine’s participation rate is currently at 41%, and we know that we can increase that percentage by the end of the day on Monday. We need as many voices as possible to weigh in as we work to strengthen our DEI strategy for the future. Faculty and staff please remind your students, residents and postdocs.

To find your survey link, check your inbox for an email from Press Ganey on Tuesday, February 22. The email will be from noreply@surveys.pressganey.com. It will have “Press Ganey on behalf of UNC Health/UNC School of Medicine” in the “From” field, and the subject will be “UNC Health and UNC School of Medicine DEI Climate Survey.” We will send reminder emails from Press Ganey on Saturday, Feb. 26, and Monday, Feb. 28, to individuals who have not completed the survey.

We’ve talked a lot about our One Great Team across the School of Medicine and UNC Health. Our people are our most valuable resource, and your overall wellbeing and sense of belonging is important.

Thank you again for your help in this effort.

Sincerely,

Cristy and Nate
