Pronouns:
She/hers
Nursing Background:
Two years in CTSU (another hospital), 5 years in SICU here at UNC, and 2 years on ASCT
Fun facts/Passions:
I went to NC State for my degree in biological sciences, and then the University of South Carolina for my Master’s in Public Health and my Nursing degree. I love all things NC State, Go Pack! I love to travel and explore new places. I love trying new restaurants, cooking new recipes with my husband, and trying new foods in different countries. I will try anything once! (The most interesting thing I have eaten was Zebra in South Africa.) I enjoy running! I love a good 5K, 10K, or half marathon with an excuse to travel to a different place. I really enjoy live music and great concerts. My husband and I recently got to see ZZ Top in concert.
What do you like about being a Rapid Response nurse?
I really like how every day is different. I encounter new people, new situations, and new ideas. I am constantly critically thinking and advocating for patient/nurse safety. I learn something new every day and truly value the input and ideas of my colleagues. I love being in a role that uses education to help others to improve their skills and critical thinking. I value everyone’s license, as we have all worked very hard to get where we are, and I want to make sure that is protected and valued by others.
