The UNC School of Medicine is accepting applications for bridge and boost funding. The deadline for applications is Oct. 10.
The School of Medicine Office of Research is now accepting applications for bridge and boost funding.
Bridge funding provides continued support for successful research projects that suffer a lapse in funding. Investigators eligible for funding in this round should have had a competing renewal application for an R01 or equivalent grant reviewed in a recent NIH study section. The maximum amount provided from the Office of the Dean for bridge funding is $50,000. For more information about eligibility and application requirements for bridge funding, please refer to the RFA linked here.
Boost funding is designed to boost the chances of funding for a new NIH grant (or similar) that has been reviewed favorably but needs additional revisions and preliminary data in order to be funded on resubmission. Up to $25,000 will be provided to successful applicants for lab supplies, animal expenses, core services, and salary for research personnel. For more information about applications for boost funding, please visit the link here for the current RFA.
