UNC School of Medicine Academy of Educators has released AOE Essentials, an onboarding package with 1.5 hours of CME credit available.
AOE Essentials is a faculty onboarding package created by the UNC School of Medicine Academy of Educators that reviews the Basics of Teaching. These modules were created by a group of over 20 faculty from around the state, led by Kelly Smith, MD (UNC Family Medicine). The goal is to give all faculty who work with SOM learners the fundamentals to become exceptional educators. Faculty who complete all modules will receive a Certificate of Completion from the AOE. Those who complete the Expectations, Evaluations, and Feedback modules are also eligible for a maximum of 1.5 hours of CME credit.

- Overview/Structure of UNC UME and GME
- Setting Expectations
- Filling out Evaluations
- Giving Effective Feedback
Each module should take about 15 minutes to complete. You can gain knowledge and skills to improve your teaching in only one hour.
