The Council of Faculty and Academic Societies (CFAS) represents medical school faculty and academic societies within the governance of the AAMC. The UNC School of Medicine CFAS representative has the opportunity to be heard at the national level on a variety of issues critical to academic medicine, and can bring colleagues’ perspectives back to the AAMC through CFAS.

The Council of Faculty and Academic Societies (CFAS) represents medical school faculty and academic societies within the governance of the AAMC. CFAS identifies critical issues facing medical school faculty and academic societies and serves as a voice for both constituencies within AAMC’s leadership and governance structures.
The UNC School of Medicine’s CFAS representative will have the opportunity to be heard at the national level on a variety of issues critical to academic medicine, and will be positioned to bring colleagues’ perspectives back to the AAMC through CFAS.
The Office of Faculty Affairs and Leadership Development is now recruiting for one open position as CFAS representative.
Representatives must be a department chair, division chief, institute/center director, or comparable leader. Representatives serve three-year terms with no more than two consecutive terms.
