Hospital System is Only Care Site in NC to Receive Dual Level 10 Rankings

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – UNC Health received the highest level in the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) 2025 Digital Health Most Wired Survey. The survey assessed more than 50,000 care sites in the new survey and UNC Health is the only health system in North Carolina to reach level 10 status in both acute and ambulatory categories.

“UNC Health is truly honored to be recognized as a CHIME Most Wired Level 10 organization,” said Brent Lamm, UNC Health Chief Information Officer.  “This represents a tremendous amount of hard work, dedication, and innovation by our teams, all focused on providing the best possible technology solutions and services to improve the health and well-being of the patients and communities that we have the privilege to serve.”

UNC Health ranked above peers in key focus areas including clinical quality and safety, analytics and data management, cybersecurity, population health, infrastructure, patient engagement and innovation. Only 13 other care sites in the nation reached level 10 states in both acute and ambulatory categories.

The Digital Health Most Wired survey serves as a comprehensive evaluation and digital maturity report card for healthcare organizations across the globe. As success in digital transformation increasingly influences the quality and accessibility of care, this recognition program reflects the progress of leading healthcare providers as they reshape the future of healthcare. This achievement extends beyond information technology to every area of the enterprise, symbolizing a collective commitment to advancing health and care through strategic digital initiatives.
